Regenerative, democratic, just.
The challenges we face are enormous. Extractive industries undermine the resilience of our communities, climates and ecosystems. Structural inequalities deprive billions of the freedoms and opportunities afforded to the most privileged. And these crises are not individual phenomena, but interlocking parts of a complex system. We need a new system to succeed it; one built on regeneration, democracy, and justice.
Systems change needs swarms.
Extensive efforts to map 'the transition' have shown that the seeds of this system are taking root all around the world. But no individual person or organization can build it alone; working in silos, divided by borders, languages and diverse value frameworks, we simply lack the resources, the insights, and the pace. And yet, we live in a world of abundance, not scarcity. When we take stock of what we have to offer collectively, we find so much latent energy, so many potential assets left unmobilized, so many powerful alliances yet to be forged. Sharing our knowledge and pooling our resources in a well-governed ‘commons’, we access new leverage in the system, and new collective powers to forge a better one.

We design for mass participation, mobilizing diverse citizen groups and organizations from across the world.

We build from existing best-practice rather than starting from scratch, and broker partnerships between leading stakeholders, rather than competing.
Democratic
We make our internal decisions through horizontal governance, and strive to ensure that everyone we work with has a voice in our work.

We are transparent in our finances, our software, and our values, and we always welcome new connections.

To Get Out of This, We Need to Know How We Got Into This
The question that needs to be answered/asked is how did we get in this situation, facing extinction, facing authoritarian control, fearing pandemics? It may not be simplistic to say that it is related to our economy.
